What is multi-courier aggregator software?

Multi-courier aggregator software is the system a shipping business uses to sell several couriers through one account. Sellers see one panel and one wallet; behind it, the software talks to Delhivery, Blue Dart, DTDC, Xpressbees and the rest, and picks the right one for each parcel.

The problem it solves

Every courier has its own portal, rate card, label format, tracking codes and COD report. A seller who uses three couriers spends hours a week copying data between them. A courier business that serves fifty sellers on three couriers can't do it by hand at all.

Multi-courier software puts all of that behind one screen: compare, book, print, track, collect, pay out and invoice, whichever courier carries the parcel.

What it does, step by step

  • Checks which couriers serve the pickup and delivery pincodes
  • Prices each option, including volumetric weight, COD and remote-area charges
  • Books the chosen courier and gets the AWB number
  • Prints a standard label and requests pickup
  • Pulls tracking updates from every courier into one status list
  • Flags failed deliveries (NDR) so someone acts the same day
  • Tracks cash on delivery from collection to payout
  • Deducts charges from a prepaid wallet and raises tax invoices

Who uses it

Two kinds of business. Sellers who ship enough to want several couriers but not enough to build integrations themselves. And courier companies, franchises and resellers who want to offer many couriers to their own customers under their own name. The second group needs the white-label version: their brand on the website, labels and invoices, and their own courier contracts behind it.

What to look for

  • Your own courier accounts, not the vendor's, so the rates and the customer relationship stay yours
  • Margins you can set per courier, zone and customer
  • Clear COD and wallet records
  • Store integrations so sellers don't type addresses
  • A flat monthly price rather than a cut of every shipment

Frequently asked questions

Is multi-courier software the same as a courier aggregator?

The aggregator is the business; the software is what it runs on. Many aggregators rent the software instead of building it.

How many couriers do I need to start?

Two or three is plenty. Add more as particular customers or lanes need them.
