B2B vs B2C courier shipping

B2C parcels go to shoppers' homes; B2B consignments go to shops, distributors and warehouses. Many courier businesses do both, and the differences matter when you price and book.

B2C parcels

  • Light, usually under a few kilos
  • Many single parcels to homes
  • Lots of cash on delivery
  • Buyer tracking and delivery calls matter

B2B consignments

  • Heavier cartons, often several boxes per shipment
  • Priced per kilo with minimum chargeable weight
  • E-way bill for higher-value goods
  • Appointment deliveries to warehouses

Handling both

Your software needs multi-box shipments, B2B rate cards and a place for the e-way bill number, alongside the usual B2C flow. Offering both from one account lets you keep a customer's full volume instead of only their small parcels.

Frequently asked questions
